Donate to the Aceh Flood Disaster Relief
On 28 November 2025, catastrophic flooding swept across Aceh Province Sumatra Indonesia—submerging entire communities, destroying homes, sweeping away roads and bridges, and cutting off remote highland villages such as Takengon, Bener Meriah, and Langsa. Thousands have been displaced, and access to food, clean water, and medical supplies is critically low. Some areas are reachable only by helicopter or small aircraft, making response both urgent and expensive. So far, 1,000 people have lost their lives. Thousands are missing.
The disaster is a result of a high rainfall event combined with deforestation for industrial palm oil and logging.
